Program highlight: Medical Sciences
All health and health-related professional programs require a university degree and U of I's Medical Sciences degree is specifically designed to prepare students to be highly successful in these follow-on programs. Whether you're planning for medical, dental, or other professional school, or interested in a career in biomedical research, this degree gives you a strong academic foundation.
In the Medical Sciences degree, you’ll study core concepts in biology while building skills in critical thinking, leadership, professional conduct, psychology, global and cultural competence, and biomedical specialty areas. You’ll also have opportunities to gain hands-on experience through research and internships in the local community.
This program prepares you for a health professional pathways such as medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology, or radiology—as well as graduate study in biomedical sciences or careers in allied health fields like medical law or hospital administration.
